Elad Lassry (born 1977, Tel Aviv, Israel) is an American artist who lives and works in Los Angeles. Lassry received his BFA from the California Institute of the Arts in 2003 and his MFA from the University of Southern California in 2007.[1]

One year after graduating from the University of Southern California, Lassry mounted a solo exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago in the Film, Video and New Media gallery.[2] The exhibition consisted of two films, Untitled (Agon), 2007 and Zebra and Woman, 2007.[3]
In 2009, Lassry had a solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art titled Elad Lassry: Three Films.[4] Films in the exhibition included Untitled (Agon), 2007, Zebra and Woman, 2007 and Untitled (Textbook), 2008. In the spring of 2009, SculptureCenter curator, Fionn Meade, reviewed the exhibition in the quarterly print magazine Bidoun.[5]
In 2010, Lassry had solo exhibitions at the Kunsthalle Zürich in Switzerland and at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, which was titled Sum of Limited Views.[6][7] In conjunction with the show, Kunsthalle Zürich published the exhibition book, Elad Lassry.[8]
At the 54th Venice Biennale, Lassry debuted the film Untitled (Ghost), 2011, along with several photographs in the ILLUMInazioni - ILLUMInations exhibition at the Venetian Arsenale.[9]
Lassry is currently represented in America by David Kordansky Gallery in Los Angeles and Luhring Augustine in New York City.[10][11] He is additionally represented by Massimo de Carlo in Milan and Galerie Francesca Pia in Zürich.[12][13]
Lassry was the winner of the 2007 John Jones Art on Paper Award. As part of the prize, Lassry exhibited several works at the 2008 Zoo Art Fair made over the 12-month period after receiving the award.[14] In 2010, he was nominated to the Rencontres d'Arles Discovery Award (France) and exhibited his works.
In 2011, Lassry was nominated for the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize.[15]
